• A Grad Prayer

A few weeks ago, we had a wonderful time as we watched our four year grads celebrate their time here at Prairie. The class asked that a couple of us might come and pray for them at the end of the Baccalaureate service. A number of people asked me for the prayer, so I thought I would post it as a way of continuing to pray for them.

A reading from Paul to the Corinthian church to you-
“You yourselves are our letter, written on our hearts, known and read by everyone. You show that you are the result of our ministry, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts.” 2 Corinthians 3:2-3

    Heavenly Father,
We are asking today that you would bestow on these living letters of 2014:
    • the obedience of Abraham
    • the trustworthiness of Joseph
    • the authority of Moses
    • the courage of Joshua
    • the discernment of Deborah
    • the fortitude of Ruth
    • the prayer life of Samuel
    • the heart of David
    • the resilience of Esther
    • the ability to see like the prophet Isaiah
    • the contrite spirit of Jeremiah
    • the integrity of Daniel
    • the humility of Mary
    • the love of John
    • the practicality of James
    • the zeal of Philip
    • the Shepherd’s heart of Barnabus
    • the passion of Paul
    • the hospitality of Lydia
    • the leadership gifts of Junias

Most of all I pray that these living letters would experience the deep fellowship of the Holy Spirit, that they would always know Christ and make Him known by power, the Holy Spirit and deep conviction to the Glory of the Father. Amen.
